Roderic
Head Instructor/Owner

Roderic is a local to Page Az and grew up on the Navajo Nation. He is a black belt under Jay Pages. Roderic started his training in 2011 under Steve Judson of GD Jiu-Jitsu in Prescott Az. For a short time between 2014 to 2016, he was the assistant instructor for the former MMA Fitness/Brasa Jiu-Jitsu operated by Marcus Bigman. In 2016, Roderic moved back to Prescott to continue his training under Steve Judson. There he received his blue, purple and brown belt from Steve Judson. During his time in Prescott he would traveled to Page to help with promotions and teach classes at Lake Powell Jiujitsu, when it was located at Page Middle School wrestling room. Which was operated by Cassandra Dodson at the time. Eventually Roderic moved back to his hometown Kaibeto. He is now the owner and head instructor of Lake Powell Jiu-Jitsu. Roderic has competed through all his ranks in jiu-jitsu from IBJJF, NAGA, UGF, Abu Dabi Trails and local Az GD jiujitsu events.

“From my experience, jiujitsu has helped me a lot in life. I was never an athlete in high school and I didn't compete in any kind of sports. I was also not very athletic. In 2011, my brother-in-law invited me to his jiu-jitsu class. I was hooked the first day and since then I have kept up with my training. I believe jiu-jitsu can be for anyone. It's a good self defense without striking but more of taking control of the person in an intense situation."
